2011-2012 Broadway San Diego Season

Being a lover of all things Broadway, I am always so thrilled when a new season of musicals begins at Broadway San Diego

Though it doesn’t have the same electricity or je ne sais quoi of actual New York City Broadway, it still feels like magic to me when I walk into the theatre: the majestic lights, the red velvet curtain, and that faint smell of Aqua Net wafting in from backstage; I love it all.

In a few weeks, I’ll be heading to the opening night of Shrek the Musical, and I am beyond excited. Though my kids may be a bit young for the material, and might have a hard time lasting in their seats, I really want to take them just so that can get a whiff of that Aqua Net/velvet combo, and so that the excitement of opening night will get under their skin, like it did mine, oh so many years ago. Stay tuned for my full review of Shrek the Musical coming out the week of July 5th.
