Wine Walk in Downtown Walnut Creek
Walnut Creek’s Fall Wine Walk on September 18th is a great way to sample wine as well as the wares of Walnut Creek’s downtown businesses. The Wine Walk begins at 6pm at Pro Home Systems on Civic Drive, where you get your wine glass and your hand stamp. From there, you can wander around downtown Walnut Creek to sample wines from local wineries. Participating businesses include Mechanics Bank, where you can sample a Merlot, and Changes Salon and Day Spa and Le Cheval restaurant, both of which will be sampling a local Cabernet.
Acoustic musicians will set the mood by playing at plazas and along sidewalks throughout downtown, and be sure to participate in the prize drawing, so that you have the chance to walk away with more than just that nifty souvenir wine glass.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Walnut Creek Education Foundation, helping to support schools. Local elementary school students receive art, music, library hours and PE throughWCEF—essentials that aren’t provided by the state budget.
To get tickets, go to the Walnut Creek Downtown Business Association website and place your order through Eventbrite—there’s a link there. Pre-sale tickets are $30 per person, but $40 on the event day. When ordering tickets, be sure to mention WCEF in the section that asks ‘How did you here about this event?’ (Bay Area Mama isn’t an option, sadly) and local schools will benefit. You can also purchase tickets at a few downtown locations, including the Main Street Postal and Business Center, Atlas Men’s Fashion and Mechanics Bank.

Visit the Business Association’s website for a full listing of participating businesses. Invite your friends and neighbors (but leave all the underage family at home, please—this is a 21 and over event) and wear some comfortable shoes. The Wine Walk is a rain or shine event and you’ll want to be able to hoof it all over town to experience all that downtown Walnut Creek has to offer.
