I love scarves on any day, but this seems like an especially nice idea for Thanksgiving. Why? Because sweaters are WAY too heavy for all the cooking and eating and meat sweats and family conversational strain.
My solution is to wear a short-sleeve shirt with a scarf so I look all stylish and autumn-y upon beginning the festivities. Then discard the scarf when I get hot, and/or use it as
a.) a bib
b.) food stain camoflage
c.) food baby hiding apparatus
d.) light warmth for when the overly-hot house and conversational strain are too much and you must sneak out the door for fresh air.
