Use Real Butter

Jen’s blog, Use Real Butter, is a blend that I just love. One part extraordinary photography (and not just food photography, her outdoor shots are amazing), one part slice-of-life narrative and one part food, Use Real Butter offers a true reading experience. This isn’t a blog you skim, this is one that you should cozy up to and really take the time to enjoy.

I refuse to use a blog reader. I like to surf around and visit pretty sites, but man, that can be time consuming. Now, I have a lovely place to see tantalizing posts from food bloggers in one handy place—FoodPress. FoodPress is edited by Jane Maynard of This Week for Dinner, so you know you’ll be seeing a daily collection of posts that are sure to delight your eyes and your belly. Mmm...delicious!

If you put the two most important parts of me together – motherhood and writing – and you stir in a little resolution about personal fulfillment and mental stability, you get this blog. Like most mothers out there, I absolutely adore my children and, like most mothers out there, I live dangerously close to that bend in the road, the one you’re not supposed to go around. The writing you find here keeps me away from that bend. It gives me just a bit more road. It slows life down long enough for me to remember the details. It helps me to focus on the good stuff and handle the bad stuff with more grace and humour. And there’s always room in my life for more grace and humour.
