So I'm at a cozy backyard BBQ and my mom is telling me about her friend's sister that is expecting a gigantic comet to hit the earth and cause utter destruction. She's heading for higher ground to avoid the massive Tsunamis that will soon cover most of the earth.
On the outside I'm thinking she's crazy. On the inside, I'm like "I knew I should have built a bomb shelter under my house". But I just kept smiling and nodding.
Then, I wake up to see this headline:
And then the little voice inside my head is like "M'effer! I knew it! Little bits of the mother meteor are headed our way!"
So I get my cousin who works at NASA on the line. He tells me that those little meteors hit our planet every day. I tell him that's what he's suppose to tell me. I want to know if they've sent Bruce Willis into orbit to save our planet.
So I do some more Googling. Believers say that the "Comet Elenin" will hit the earth on September 27th fulfilling 2012 doomsday prophecies. And then I read all of the myth debunking on Discovery News, including a link to the "Everything You Need to Know About the Comet Elenin" link that NASA posted.
While the data seems to show that this comet is not a threat to us, I just have one thing to say (just in case it is): Bruce Willis, if you are battling this comet in outer space right now, I salute you.
