What was your big dream?
When I went through my divorce I looked and looked for a storybook I could share with my children that would explain what was happening in their lives. I found several wonderful books published on the subject of divorce, but they mostly featured make-believe characters like talking teddy bears. I wanted a REAL CHILD's face for my children to see and identify with that would help them to understand that other real children had been through a divorce and that it was not just a made-up “character” story. My “DREAM” was born out of realizing that I could possibly write the book that I was searching for, and by doing so fulfill a great need.

How did you accomplish it?
After a year and a half of working, studying and creating.....the book of my heart, Sending Love, My "Different-Functional" Family was published.

Where did you find inspiration to get started?
My inspiration started from my own children. I wanted my children to understand that a divorce was not their fault. I wanted them to know that they are LOVE, they were created in LOVE, and that they are still crazy.

What motivated you to keep going?
It was the HOPE of making a difference in the life of a child. Even if it was just a small, tiny difference...... that hope kept me focused.

Growing Aspenwood Publishing. Helping other women publish the stories of their heart.

Who is your hero?
The DreamMakers, my own mama, and my kiddos!

What is your favorite quote?
I have two absolute favorites. The first is by Mister Rogers: “So in all you do in all of your life, I wish you strength and the grace to make the choices which will allow you and your neighbor to become the best of whoever you are”. And my second favorite is from my eight-year old daughter when she was talking about learning how to skateboard. “SOMETIMES YOU ARE SCARED, BUT YOU JUST HAVE TO SUCK IT UP AND DO IT!!!!!”
