Community Service has long been a tradition in my life, but I have struggle to find opportunities that my children could take part in when they were young. Help Reverse Litter has a great new way to involve kids and community service.  Ten on Tuesdayencourages businesses, schools, community groups and individuals to reverse litter by picking up 10 pieces of trash and recyclable materials each Tuesday. According to the Help Reverse Litter website, “If for just one year, 5,000 people chunk 10 pieces of litter a week into the trash or recycling bin, the Metroplex will reduce litter by 2.6 millionpieces.” That is an amazing amount, and could make a real difference. I’ve pledged to do my part and to get my family and friends involved as well. This could be a new family tradition, and even very small kids could help by pointing out litter (if you don’t want them to actually touch it). Also maybe a great way to start to teach kids what is recyclable and what isn’t. Check it out, or look at these links for events in your community!
