My blog is an eclectic mix of all things lovely, delicious, refreshing and fun. This includes recipes, personal renewal opportunities, women's issues and family/parenting life.

I first read Kelle Hampton’s blog after a favorite blog of mine, Dig This Chick, mentioned well wishes for the birth of Kelle’s second child. I’ve loved reading Kelle’s blog because she offers a lovely, slow-it-down and savor the moment perspective that I enjoy. Kelle shares beautiful photos and perspectives from her motherhood journey in sunny Florida.

Brandy is the fashion-industry blogger behind Baby Blackbird, a blog devoted to kids fashion, handmade toys and clothing, and family life. The mini street style posts are and adorable collection of reader submitted photos of their young fashionistas, but my favorite might be the Mini Celebrity posts where Brandy breaks down celebrity style into a kid-appropriate approximation. Confession time. It took me a good 6 years before my house looked “put together”. Perhaps it wouldn’t have taken so long if I’d been a design blog devotee back then. Now, thanks to great design blogs like Fresh Nest, I no longer look at an empty room and hear crickets. Fresh Nest is one to bookmark along side your other favorite design blogs and visit often - you won’t see the same thing twice.

If you put the two most important parts of me together – motherhood and writing – and you stir in a little resolution about personal fulfillment and mental stability, you get this blog. Like most mothers out there, I absolutely adore my children and, like most mothers out there, I live dangerously close to that bend in the road, the one you’re not supposed to go around. The writing you find here keeps me away from that bend. It gives me just a bit more road. It slows life down long enough for me to remember the details. It helps me to focus on the good stuff and handle the bad stuff with more grace and humour. And there’s always room in my life for more grace and humour.

Jen’s blog, Use Real Butter, is a blend that I just love. One part extraordinary photography (and not just food photography, her outdoor shots are amazing), one part slice-of-life narrative and one part food, Use Real Butter offers a true reading experience. This isn’t a blog you skim, this is one that you should cozy up to and really take the time to enjoy.
