Remember the Fall List O’ Fun?

Well, it was such a wild success that I’m going to make the most of my holiday season and 3rd trimester with another list of fun things to do before my feet swell and I reach the stage of pregnancy where I can no longer put on my own shoes.

Breakfast with a Witch was a BIG hit. No, really. It was!

GOING

Christmas Light Drives: I’m going to pack up some snacks, cocoa and the fam and we’re going to soak in all of the neighborhood holiday light goodness that we can.

Date Nights: A night out with my hubby to see Harry Potter and do a little Christmas shopping sounds dreamy. It’s also his 35th birthday in December so I’m on a mission to take him somewhere fabulous to dine.

In Utah we have a train ride affectionately called “The Heber Creeper”, at Christmastime they host the North Pole Express ride...complete with hot cocoa and bells. Yes, please.

COOKING

We’re spending Thanksgiving with family, which is wonderful, but we want our own stockpile of leftovers so my husband and I decided to make another Thanksgiving meal for ourselves in December. The only trick is narrowing down the menu...I want it ALL.

I’m hosting my monthly girls dinner club in December - I wanted to make a meal that was cozy without being too heavy. (You know how by New Year’s you just want a salad?) So I settled on PW’s Italian Meatball Soup, a mixed green salad, Marta’s Focaccia and Chocolate Fondue.

DOING

I am comfortable with an orchestrated mess so with that in mind, I’m going to let my girl and her kiddie pals decorate Gingerbread Houses and sugar cookies. I’ve got a dust buster...how bad can it be?

The birds around our house are NUTS for birdseed. We can watch our feeder through our dining room window—I think my girl would get a kick out of making one of those old-school pinecone/peanut butter birdfeeders for our tree.

Winter calls for lazy Sunday’s watching movies. Our playlist includes; Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, Yes Virginia, The Santa Clause 2 (we don’t love #1 or #3, but for some reason, my husband and I just can’t get enough of the second film) and the BEST holiday film of all time, It’s a Wonderful Life.

In an effort to make room for baby #2, we’re going to start finishing our basement in December...with the lofty goal if finishing it by the end of February. I’ll be sharing the ongoing saga here. :) Should be pretty entertaining.

Family History Fun & Simple

Last year when I went back home to visit my family in Australia, my mother pulled out the coolest thing I have seen in my entire life – a handmade, hand-bound, hand-drawn, hand-written (you know I love the ‘hand’ stuff) giant comic book documenting the 3 month trip her and my dad took as newlyweds.
