October has to be my favorite month. It starts with the promise of Fall (a welcomed relief in Arizona!), is filled with pumpkin spice lattes and soccer games, and ends with the excitement of Halloween.

My creativity genes are limited–I can’t bake or sew, I don’t sing or dance, but I can come up with a mean Halloween costume…or a sweet one, or a silly one! Over the years, my kids have always looked forward to selecting their costumes. Some years, I have completely “sold out” and bought something off the rack, but most years, it’s all about making the costumes.
