Whoa. I feel like I just lived the last year on fast-forward. It was a darn good year thought...here are some highlights.
Here are a few favorites that I must share:
Fashion & Beauty Finds:
Tunics! They hide your bum and they’re comfy.
Aveda nourish-mint rehydrating lip glaze in Ginger Lily. I’m wearing it in this photo. I should find out what Rachael and Erica are wearing too...they are all kinds of hot.
I’m hooked on glittery, sparkly nails. I’ve got glitter polish in gunmetal, silver, gold, green, and purple. I’m currently auditioning pinks and reds.
I can’t say enough good things about Keen shoes for kids. I know they are pricey, but I buy one good pair per season and she outgrows them before they show any wear and tear. I’ve tried bargain shoes...they are trashed in a week or two and I end up spending the same amount in the long run.
Popcorn, Indiana Kettlecorn. Fellow Today's Mama, Breanne, gave me a bag for Christmas, then my Aunt Karin gave me a bag of the chocolate drizzled variety and I’m now completely obsessed. It is delicious!
Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa Mix is heaven in a cup.
Tech & Gadgets Finds: I like Instagram more than a friend.
Favorite from 2011:
Song:Footloose by Blake Shelton (I’m not a runner, but I can run to this song.)
Album: Sign No More by Mumford & Sons (Roll Away Your Stone is my favorite song.)
TV Show: There are three shows I make time for each week: The Vampire Diaries (HELLO Ian Somerhalder), Castle (HELLO Nathan Fillion), and Modern Family (HELLO, funniest people ever to grace my TV screen).
Movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. (I did the ugly cry when Snape died.) Jane Eyre was pretty fabulous too...now I know why everyone was pinning the W magazine photos of Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender. Bridesmaids was hysterical.
Book:Bossypants by Tina Fey. Go read it. Prepare to LOL.
This year in social networking...
Favorite Facebook status update:
Me: Let’s name the colors.
Big Girl: I think purple should be called ‘Sandra’.
Most regrettable Facebook status update:
"Made the mistake of showing my girl how to stick a straw into playdoh and then blow the chunks of playdoh across the room. Yeah, I don’t know what I was thinking either."

Blogging in 2011
What great blogs did you discover this year?
Today’s Letters—reading the thoughtful letters between this husband and wife has reminded me to keep my husband in my thoughts. (It’s a wee bit easy to be 100% focused on the kiddos all the time.)
Let the Kids Dress Themselves—great photography inspiration for capturing the real-life-images that surround us all.
Bliss Your Heart by Karen Walrond—Karen’s new gig at Babble is an exercise in gratitude and photography...and it is lovely.
Who are your favorite bloggers, year after year?
Favorite post from a favorite blogger:This one from Karey Mackin.
Favorite photo of 2011 (your own):
Taken February 2011, the night before the baby boy arrived.
What did you kick to the curb this year?
Worrying about everyone else’s expectations. There are only so many hours in a day and I have to spend them as I see fit. It’s not like I’ve got my feet up over here.
What/who did you realize you are particularly grateful for?
The people in my life that love my kids...the friends and family that make my daughter feel special and cherished. As a parent, you can’t do it all. Having people in your life that want to help and give hugs is a special gift.
What was your big moment of 2011?
Welcoming a baby boy to our family. The second biggest moment, was when my girl arrived at the hospital to meet him. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous, hopeful, and excited in my whole life.
What did you do this year that you’re really proud of? Hit my stride with two kids. The first...oh...six months were a bit tough, but we’re doing pretty good now!
What word sums up 2011 for you? Sleepless.
What would you have done differently in 2011? Fewer cookies. More salad. ;)
Best getaway of 2011? A Disney Cruise!
What did your kids teach you this year?
Having another baby made me truly realize how fast kids grow up. My girl was a baby right up until the moment her brother arrived and then she instantly became this kid. I’ve tried to remember to slow down and savor both of them and the little quirks that accompany each age.
What are you looking forward to most in 2012? Going on a grown up vacation with my husband.
What is your #1 goal for 2012? To have a good time!
