Los Angeles, CA (Born in NY, NY)

What was your big dream?
As a kid I wanted to be a journalist - foreign correspondent. Brenda Starr was a big hero of mine, which probably dates me terribly.

How did you accomplish it?
I didn't. Except I now tell "stories" of a different kind to a different audience.

Where did you find inspiration to get started?
From books, movies and TV shows that showed smart girls having fun. And from parents who consistently told me I could accomplish anything if I worked hard.

What motivated you to keep going?
A passion for creative challenges. And having a little success is intoxicating. You keep wanting more.

What's your next Big Dream?
To live in Corsica and sail the Mediterranean.

Who is your hero?
My daughter. She has already done so many things in life that I never got to.

What do you wish you did better?
Sing. I'm completely tone deaf, though not in the shower.

What book is on your night stand?
I have about a dozen. Right now I'm mostly reading Azar Nafisi's "Things I've Been Silent About" but there's also a really dog-eared copy of "Madame Bovary", a Kate Atkinson mystery, and a collection of New Yorker pieces about food.

What is your favorite lipstick?
What isn't? I have them all.

What is your favorite quote?
"Imagination rules the world." -- Napoleon Bonaparte. My favorite quote, but not my favorite person.
