You are going to thank me . . . most likely for the next year. And just in time for your Black Friday and holiday shopping.
While I was visiting eBay last week I discovered a handy dandy little shopping app that they have and I've been playing with it ever since.
It's called Red Laser.
It's like having your own laser gun wherever you go - except it's the kind of laser gun that only store employees get. Here's how it works:
Until I watched this video (literally when I just added it to the post) I didn't even think of grocery shopping with this bad boy. I've just been thinking Christmas shopping. Dude. I love this thing.
Here is an example of a search I ran last time I was at Super Target:
Harry Potter Lego set at Super Target for $59.99

I use Red Laser app on my iPhone to scan the barcode of the product.
It takes a few seconds and Red Laser gives me these price comparison results. I can see that I can save $9 if I buy if on Amazon.com. Done.
I've been shooting things like crazy. Books in my house, toys at the store, and now I'll be shooting all of my groceries. I can see when I'm truly getting a great price on something and that I should buy it on the spot, or I can immediately see what prices beat it -- and can again buy it on the spot with my phone. I'm literally going to save at least $100 off my Christmas shopping and that's my conservative guess. I'll report back with my savings!
I'm pretty sure if you are going out on Black Friday that you shouldn't leave home without this. It's a free download so you should probably go do it now.
Red Laser is a free app and is available on iTunes.
P.S. Want to know something almost as cool? See how I have photos/screen shots of my actual iPhone screen in the post above? Want to know how you can do that on your own? Hold down your main key (the circle button on your main screen) and the thin button on the upper right hand top side of your iPhone at the same time AND IT WILL TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR SCREEN! It doesn't take much to make me happy people. Just simple bits of technology.
Happy Holidays, shopping and screen shotting! :D
