Just in time for back-to-school shopping (and who says new fall clothes are just for kids?) a new Anthropologie  store just opened up in downtown Walnut Creek.  It’s what the company is calling a ‘footprint’ store– much smaller and cozier than many of their other sites, with that original Anthro boutique-y feel. Or, if you’re not that into their clothing (?!) then enjoy wandering through the magical displays of their home décor and imagine that you’re shopping at a Parisian flea market.  Who can say no to a dessert plate with a praying mantis on it? And if all those clothes and housewares aren’t enough to make you spend the entire bank account, Anthropologie also has a great selection of gift-y items as well, including fun books like Gretchen Rubin’s Happier at Home, which is a nifty little book of ‘do’s and don’ts’ for a happier existence in one’s domicile (maybe, get rid of the kids for a couple hours?)  The Anthro version even contains some bonus material.

For future note, it’s also the perfect place to pass a couple hours on a rainy day—just keep an eye on any little hands you bring with you.
