A La Carte Kitchen

I have two bloggy loves. Food and photography. For me, when those topics combine, it is pure online bliss. My latest discovery is a la carte kitchen. A trio of New York food photographers (Cathy, Joe & Heather) that share their projects, favorite recipes and foodie views. They each write with such enthusiasm...it makes me want to have them over for a BBQ.

Lorie's Mississippi Kitchen

With a tagline like "Don't blame me if you get fat" we should have been warned. Instead, we're going back, again, to Lorie's sinfully delicious blog. Can't wait to try her Biscoff buttercream snickerdoodle whoppie pies. Oh, you read that right.

White Lotus Cooks

Months ago, a friend treated me to homemade egg rolls. I haven’t stopped thinking about them since. Searching for a egg roll recipe (and the newfound knowledge that what I really wanted was a Spring Roll) led me to White Lotus Cooks, a delicious blog full of asian food, sweet treats, party ideas and family tid-bits.

A whole post to review the food aboard the Disney Wonder? You bet your sweet Mickey ears. It was that good.

So You’re Pregnant: Crazy Food Edition

When I was pregnant with my first child and in the throes of morning sickness, I was immediately consumed by a desire for what I called “white food”. Basically, if it was a totally useless carb, I was on the hunt.

Helen Jane

I love to see how other people embrace food and host a great party. Helen Jane’s blog shares her lovely life in Napa Valley —the bocce ball games (and accompanying food), the get-togethers (and the accompanying lessons learned), the cute kids (who doesn’t love a cute kid) and Helen’s great sense of humor and laid-back perspective on entertaining.

Fresh Nest Design

Confession time. It took me a good 6 years before my house looked “put together”. Perhaps it wouldn’t have taken so long if I’d been a design blog devotee back then. Now, thanks to great design blogs like Fresh Nest, I no longer look at an empty room and hear crickets. Fresh Nest is one to bookmark along side your other favorite design blogs and visit often - you won’t see the same thing twice.

Snapdragon Ink

If you put the two most important parts of me together – motherhood and writing – and you stir in a little resolution about personal fulfillment and mental stability, you get this blog. Like most mothers out there, I absolutely adore my children and, like most mothers out there, I live dangerously close to that bend in the road, the one you’re not supposed to go around. The writing you find here keeps me away from that bend. It gives me just a bit more road. It slows life down long enough for me to remember the details. It helps me to focus on the good stuff and handle the bad stuff with more grace and humour. And there’s always room in my life for more grace and humour.

My Tartelette

Kate’s blog boasts wonderful recipes and some of the most wonderful food-centric photography I’ve seen.
