I love the Olympic Games.

How much do I love the Games? So much that it makes me cry. A lot.

I cry when they win. I cry when they lose. I even cry a little when Stephen Colbert makes his way through the International House. But mostly, I cry when I'm watching those little in between stories about athletes . . . and their MOMS.

From 2000 - 2002, I worked with the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Games. In November of 2001 I got pregnant. And then I got really pregnant sick in February of 2002 (oh, you know, during the Olympics), and then I watched most of the Games from my living room when I really should have been watching them with Katie Couric. I cried then too.

Well, it's 2012, and I'll be blogging the 2012 Olympic Games out with P&G. The goal: to make you cry.

Behind every amazing athlete, is an even more amazing mom. That’s why P&G is the Proud Sponsor of Moms, not just the moms of athletes, but ALL moms around the world. We want to create a movement that recognizes “mom” as the hardest, but, best job, in the world.

Whether it is waking up before dawn to make breakfast, doing loads and loads of laundry, taking a bus to a child’s practice, or caring for a child’s injuries, one thing is universally true for all mothers on every continent: while being a mom may be the toughest job in the world, it also is the most rewarding job in the world.

Why don't you head on over and like the "Thank You Mom" Facebook page and P&G will donate $1 to the USOC P&G|Team USA Youth Sports fund, up to $100,000. This is part of a $5MM global commitment P&G has made to support local youth sports in many countries.

Did you cry? Just a little?

Take Note: This is How You Thank a Mom

I’m a sucker for seeing sweet treatment heaped on moms. Because once you become a mother you know that the small things, like...oh, getting a toddler to put on some pants, can be a wee bit taxing.
