Yoga in the Park– Walnut Creek
So come on down to Walnut Creek’s Civic Park, and center your mind before all that back-to-school madness begins. Enjoy the pleasant out-of-doors of summertime and breathe the fresh morning air during your yoga workout.
Bring your yoga mat, water bottle, stretchy clothes and flexible mind to the park at 9:30am. Yoga in the Park is one hour of free, mind-centering bliss, when you don’t have to think about when your child’s homework is due, or wonder what’s in the fridge for dinner. This is you time.
On August 25th, Yoga in the Park will be led by instructor Bliss German, of San Ramon’s Yoga Fusion. Bliss is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor, who will inspire and challenge you through your yoga asanas (poses) while you stretch and relax your mind and body.
If you want to make it a family affair, have dad bring the kids to play on the Civic Park playground, or roam around downtown Walnut Creek—complete with cafes, great breakfast joints and even a toy store, just a few blocks away—while you get your om on.
For those who want to be join a workout community of runners, Lululemon has running clubs that will help motivate and encourage you, whatever level you’re at. The Lemon Run Club meets at the Walnut Creek Lululemon store on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm. If you want to try an early morning trail run, the Dirty Run Club (sounds fun, eh?) meets once a month, on the first Sunday at 8am at Indian Valley Elementary School, next to Shell Ridge Open Space.
