Must Have Workout Gear

Working out. It is not always easy

Especially when clothes are bunching, underwear lines are looking like an airport runway and the “girls” are falling out.  My personal favorite (insert heavy sarcasm) is when my clothes are rubbing in all the wrong places, leaving blisters and/or chafing.  I have been working out for a long time and the following is workout gear that I don’t leave home without!

1)  Asics GT – 2000

This year, Asics decided to change their shoe line up.  Instead of providing the consumer with multiple shoe models like 2120, 2130, 2140 and so on, the new line up is simple.  There is the 1000, 2000 or 3000 to choose from.  That’s it.  At first I was disappointed because I was a loyal 2120 customer.  It was suggested that I try the 2000.  So I bought a pair, knowing that I could return them if I didn’t like them.  I took them for a test run and fell in love.  They are better than the 2120.  I have very happy running feet.  Not to mention they come in an array of bright colors.  Love it!

2)  lululemon – Take Me With You Tote

I have had many gym bags.  From the reusable grocery bag to Nike.  The one bag that I have fell in love with is this lululemon bag.  The bag is HUGE and will hold everything.  There are pockets for everything from cosmetics to stinky shoes.  You can wear it on your shoulder or across your body.  When my daughter and I go to the gym we use one bag for both of us as it has space for both of us.

  1. Adidas Cushioned Varigated Socks

Socks are the backbone of happy feet.  These no show socks don’t slip, bunch or get in the way of your workout.  They are knit with CLIMALITE® fibers and have extra cushioning in the footbed.  Best part?  Odor-resistant technology that helps keep feet fresh.  Yes, it really works!

  1. C9 by Champion Seamless Cami Bra

Since I was young, I have not enjoyed bras.  I hated shopping for them, wearing them and just how itchy they felt.  This bra by Champion changed everything.  It is seamless, comfortable and easily adjustable.  I tend to wear this bra even when I am not working out.  There is a wide selection of colors to choose from and they change every season.  Not to mention the price point of $16.99 is hard to beat.  For those ladies who are looking for a bra with more support, I suggest checking out Moving Comfort.

  1. TYR Nest Pro Metallized Goggles

The most comfortable goggles, period.  These also have a metallized feature which is like sunglasses and goggles wrapped into one.  Great for indoor and outdoor swimming.  Easily adjustable.  Available in various colors!

6)  When it comes to getting that chlorine smell off your skin and hair, there is only one product that does the job, Ultra Swim Shampoo and Conditioner.  I even use the shampoo as a body wash which helps get rid of the chlorine smell all over.  Also preventing that post swim itch that sometimes happens when skin is extra dry.

  1. lululemon wunder under *silver crop pants

When it comes to working out, I want pants that fit and don’t show my “whale tail“.  Being 5’2” tall, I find it hard to find pants that are not too long and look ridiculously sloppy.  Lululemon saved the day with their wunder under crop pants.  The best part is that they will tailor your pants for you!  That is not even the best part, these pants are made with the Silverescent luon anti-stink properties, which keeps your gear stink free.  Who wants to be that stinky person at the gym?  Not me!

  1. Old Navy Active GoDRY tank

After spending a pretty penny on my lululemon crop pants, I try to save when buying tops.  One of the tops that I absolutely love is the Old Navy Active GoDry tanks.  They are light, airy and come in great colors.

After a hard workout and hitting the showers, nothing relieves dry skin like Cetaphil moisturizer.  Miracle lotion!
