While many grocery stores offer a natural food aisle, or some organic brands, the variety of health foods at natural food stores is unrivaled. Have you considered shopping at natural health stores? Suffolk County has quite a few!

Larger stores:

Whole Foods Lake Grove (Holistic Moms of suffolk holds also meeting here once a month) and don’t miss their salad and deli bar for delicious treats. Samples are available throughout the store with more on weekends.

Trader Joe’s

Lake Grove and Commack. Wildly popular, good prices and nice atmosphere make Trader Joe’s a place to stop at frequently.

Wild by Nature -3 locations:

369 West Main Street Huntington

Don’t forget seasonal farmers markets which you can find in many towns. However, the listings I researched online weren’t accurate and changed annually, so I recommend a google search as the season starts (in May) and keep your eye out in the local papers for listings. Here are a few more popular ones, but know that info and offered days may change.

Amagansett 491 Montauk Highway ( wednesdays)

East Hampton- Nick and Toni’s parking lot 136 main street (fridays)

Greenport- 1st and Adams Street (saturdays)

Huntington- Elm Street parking lot rt 25a (sundays)

Port Jefferson- Steamroll parking lot, corner 25a and rt 112 (sundays)

Rocky Point, corner of Broadway and Prince (sundays)
