Mini Breakfast Bread Bowls

I ran across this great idea over at Perfecting the Pairing for using stale dinner rolls and other random leftovers you might have: turn them into delicious breakfast bread bowls! I love this idea for brunch, holiday meals, and entertaining. Here's the scenario: you've got friends staying the weekend and a few rolls left over from dinner. After the guests go to bed, just fill those rolls with eggs and mix-ins like grape tomatoes, ham, herbs, and a little salt and pepper. Stash in the fridge and bake in the morning. The recipe would work even better if your rolls are a couple days old. What a useful and delicious idea!

Tis’ the season of cinnamon and molasses! Right? I realize that we are in the season of cinnamon, cloves, molasses etc, but I love raspberry every day. These sweet rolls will be the perfect treat to lighten up your neighbor’s treat plate, or the perfect Christmas breakfast (I mean they are kinda red right?). The roll itself is perfectly soft, and oh so squishy, while the raspberry filling is pretty much drool worthy. Seriously.

Creamy Mashed Potatoes

We think creamy mashed potatoes are as much a staple for holiday dinners. We have an incessant desire to enjoy the best-mashed potatoes every year. Usually, by the time the turkey was carved, the potatoes were cold and dry. Not anymore. Created with Thanksgiving in mind, but still perfect enough for Christmas is this creamy mashed potato recipe.

Christmas Crack Recipe - Erin Caserio

Erin says, “When I was a little girl, my Grandparents would come visit us for Christmas. They would drive from their home in Arizona, to our house in New Mexico and since I am currently firmly what you’d call “middle aged,” this was well before cell phones so all I had was a ballpark idea of when I’d see their car pull into our driveway. Schaum Brötle Recipe - Rachael Hutchings

This recipe is for a light German meringue cookie passed down from Rachael’s great-grandmother. They were her mother's favorite. They are very light and will crumble and melt in your mouth as soon as you bite into one. One of the ingredients in the cookies is the grated peel of one lemon which gives the finished cookies a wonderful, light citrus zing. They also include chocolate chips, which weren't initially included in the recipe, but were a later innovation.

Reindeer Donuts Recipe - Super Quick and Fun!

I planned to make a delicious chocolate cake I spied on Pinterest for our work potluck today. However, life being what it is, I got sidetracked. I had dinner plans, ran our daughter to dance lessons and then went pant shopping for our littlest. By the time we got home, we were exhausted. My girls were eager to help and I wasn’t about to disappoint them. I went ahead and took out the chocolate prepackaged mini donuts and laid them out on a serving plate. Then, I proceeded to have my girls put the icing on the red peppermint M&Ms for the reindeer noses. They put extra frosting on the white M&Ms and pretzels to form the face.

The Yule Log Cake Recipe

For our family, the Bûche de Noël or the Yule Log Cake is tradition. How do you end up with a cake made to look like a log? I first remember eating Kings Cake in my high school French class. This king's cake recipe is made in the round and holds a secret bean, plastic baby, or a coin.
