Sip it twice. Do you remember that old clapping game? I have a delicious recipe for some lemonade with crunchy ice that’s great for sipping on a hot summer day.
First, make lemonade. Any kind will do but I like this old-fashioned lemonade recipe. The secret to its perfection is the simple syrup, which is made by boiling sugar and water so that the sugar dissolves completely.
Refrigerate the lemonade while you prepare the fruit.
To make the crunchy ice, follow this recipe for Rainbow Ice Cubes. It’s as simple as freezing chopped fruit and seltzer water. You can use assorted fruit. I like blueberries, strawberries, and kiwi. (If you’re not familiar with this fuzzy fruit, go here to learn an easy way to peel and cut a kiwi.)
You can also add some lemonade to the ice tray to make ice cubes, or add a toothpick for a mini frozen treat.
After about two hours the ice will be ready and you can enjoy some cold, refreshing lemonade. Don’t forget to wet the rim of your glass and dip it in sugar. Garnish with a strawberry. Cheers!
