Bake Your Own “Big Top Donut”

In the wee hours of the morning, my hubby will often times find our girls and myself missing.

Sacrificing sleep, I’ll take my girls with me to our local Wal-Mart (which features a Dunkin Donuts) to indulge in large sums of sugary confection (straight from the oven). Rather than giving my money to Dunkin Donuts, I thought I’d try the Big Top Donut and make the ginormous version at home.

So, last Sunday morning (while in our Sponge Bob pajamas), we got up to make a red velvet donut. My girls and I had so much fun donning our matching aprons and mixing the ingredients. On the other hand, my hubby was not pleased that our youngest one left a red handprint on our relatively new sofa.

As I got the girls in the bath, the delicious aroma enveloped our two story home.  By the time it had cooled down and was drizzled with white creamy frosting and colorful sprinkles, I almost felt like it was cruel to walk it over to our neighbor before sampling our creation. We were profusely thanked and dug into our own donut.

The donut exceeded our expectations. It came out beautifully and tasted unbelievably good!

This is a great buy and perfect for the upcoming holidays. I cannot wait to  make more donuts and memories with my girls.
