It is darned near impossible to find something for my husband for Valentine’s Day. I mean, something that I don’t have to wear (*AHEM*). So when I Pinterested across this idea, I pinned it to my board and to my heart as the perfect Valentine gift for him.

Start making your list of 52 things now so you can write down some of the adorable little things that you appreciate about your man on a given day, but might not think of if you’re under the gun on February 13.

And of course, this idea works for anyone you love…as long as you love them in 52 ways.

Which hangers should you keep, which should you toss, and are wire hangers really that bad?

I have a thousand different types of hangers in my closets. I hate all of them. OK, that’s not true, I like the few nice wood ones and the velveteen ones I started buy a year or two ago.

Seriously, Faye Dunaway/Joan Crawford was totally right: No More Wire Hangers!

If you’re confused about the type of hangers you need and which you should toss, I found this post on hangers over on the Mental Clutter Coach on best hangers. Go. Read. Reevaluate all your hanger choices.

From the Mental Clutter Coach

Frankly, her tip on minimizing the clothes pile in your house (oh, you know the one) is brilliant. Will be installing that ASAP.

My tip? Those velveteen hangers that you see for sale on TV? The ones that make me love my closet and treat it reverently? You can get the same ones, or similar ones, on serious deep discount at your local TJ Maxx/Ross/Marshalls/Steinmart if you keep an eye out.

After spending nearly 20 years working as a copywriter in advertising, my first book, Confessions of a Slacker Mom, came out in spring of 2004 and made the San Francisco Chronicle’s best-seller list. My second book, Confessions of a Slacker Wife, was released in spring of 2005. My books and I have been featured in Time, Newsweek, USA Today, The New York Times, The London Times, and on The Today Show, Oprah, Fox News, Geraldo and dozens of other television and radio programs. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, with my husband Michael and kids Belle (7) and Joe (6), and I still work as a copywriter.

Dissatisfied with the limited information available to them, Rachael and Stephanie recognized a compelling need for an all-inclusive book focused specifically on their community and published the first Utah Mama’s Handbook in October 2004.
Nico & Zoe is two experienced moms, with retail and internet experience, selling uncommon and artisan made high quality toys for the urban kid, age birth to six.
Our inspiration is our children. As parents, we are always on the lookout for quality, locally made, funky toys. And, we don’t want them to cost too much. Most European wood toys we find are just too expensive. Handmade toys are difficult to find, no one store specializes.

At Nico & Zoe, our aim is to select toys that are both uncommon and a good value. We also specifically support local, small businesses like us by finding toys that are designed, if not made, in the US. Our goal is simple: Offer high quality, small production, toys, all at one location.

Do we really need to explain the Feast of the Dead to our 3 year olds who want to know why they’re dressing up? Is that even the real story of Halloween? And why are there two entirely disparate Christmas stories? One featuring Santa, and the other Jesus? The list goes on. We think offering context that makes holidays more meaningful for families can add to the joy of growing up and being a part of humanity.

After designing everything from wedding invitations to birth announcements and holiday cards for family and friends, I decided that stationery would be my perfect niche.

I am a stay-at-home/work-from-home mother of two with a great love of paper and stationery. In the Summer of 2006 while talking with my husband about this new idea, we decided that we would set out to create a business. Couture Invito was born!

The name: “Couture” with the thought of quality designs, timeless sentiment and endless possibilities. With the love of all things Italian (food, wine, style, family) we choose the Italian word for invitations, “Invito.” With the support of my husband, family and friends I have created a wonderful business that continues to expand and grow with more options and more creativity every day.
