Tired of the helpless Dad persona in the media? Cheerios commercial nails it

Let’s face it. Dad’s have got the short end of the stick when it comes to how they are portrayed in the media. Fumbling, bumbling, helpless, clueless, dads.

The reality today is that dads spend more time with their kids and partnering on household tasks than ever. I’m confidant my husband has changed more diapers than I have.  As a matter of fact, I think he taught me how to do it. He grew up swishing out the cloth diapers of his siblings. I had never touched a dirty bottom in my life.

He makes the Halloween costumes, he helps build the school projects, I . . . I make a mean chocolate chip cookie.

We’re cheering for the new Cheerios commercial. It’s funny and it rings true. The dad at our house is a parenting ninja if I do say so myself. #HowToDad

Oh and PEANUT BUTTER Cheerios? What took you so long? We’re in!
