Calm Down Jar

Have you seen this idea on Pinterest?

I’m going to run out to stock up on glitter and then I’m going to make this for my own little ragers.  And oh how they can rage.  Click here to learn how to make your own calm down jar from Family Sponge.  All you need is a small mason jar, two sticks of glitter glue, warm water, a few drops of food coloring and half a tube of glitter. Let your child shake the jar up, let the frustrations out and sit while the glitter settles.  It’s an alternative to time out and it might bring you peace in your house, at least for a few minutes.

Good luck!

I have a friend who made one of these for the little girl she nannies, and she said it works great.

This sounds like a great idea until your kid chucks the jar across the room…

I thought this sounded like a good idea until I saw that it was in a glass jar. My son would toss that jar so glass won’t work for us. Bet I could use something plastic and super glue the lid on…..
