Carina has been typing on the internets before there was a www in front of everything. This is why she’s cranky and wants to know when you’ll get off her lawn. She resides in a hopelessly outdated home in the Mountain West with a mathematician and two boys. Her laundry is not done, but her Twitter and The Jet Set blog are totally up to date. Amy Poehler on Body Image Issues

One of the most pernicious things women and girls face is the constant discussion and denigration of our bodies. Who ISN’T concerned with what our daughters are absorbing about their bodies and their worth in our diseased culture? Which is why I loved this video of Amy Poehler on body image. Here’s a woman who has to face criticism of her body on an even more profound and public level than most of us do. She’s not just hilarious, beautiful, talented, and wicked smart, Amy Poehler is a bona fide great human.
