I was delighted to head up to Park City, Utah again this year for evo’12. I don’t get out as much as I should and evo conference is one of the few times each year that I get to see some of my favorite people face-to-face.
This year there were AMAZING keynote speakers, fantastic workshops, engaged and supportive sponsors, and the kind of inclusive vibe that makes everyone feel like a friend the very first day of the event.
As someone that has worked with Rachael for six-and-a-half years (I was the 1st employee she and Stephanie hired waaaaay back in the day,) I got more than a few chuckles out of her Ignite presentation. (Watch it to learn her patented Mormon gang sign.)
I left evo feeling inspired, rejuvenated, and refocused from my interactions with some of the amazing people that I met and reconnected with at evo’12.
Enough yammering. Here’s evo’12 in photos. Instagram photos, because that’s how I roll.
I got to cuddle my long-time bestie, Becky and hang out with the rest of the too-wonderful-for-words Crafting Chicks. (I’ve known Becky since the 7th grade…which is why my hug borders on downright possessive.)
Rachael and I are rarely stylishly and/or professionally dressed at the same time. (We like our jeans.) I thought this might be a nice opportunity to get a photo of us together. I was mistaken…you can dress us up, but you can’t take us out.
I attended a photography workshop taught by Tracey Clark. I had an amazing experience and left evo’12 feeling empowered to use my camera to capture what is important to me.
I enjoyed a lovely ride on The Orange Bubble Lift at the Canyons.
The reason for my afternoon lift ride? The food workshop hosted by the California Avocado Growers Association. The food was TO DIE FOR.
So were the beverages. That’s a margarita that features muddled cucumbers and jalapenos. ZING!
A windy summer storm blew in and knocked out the power. No worries. The Canyons did a great job taking care of us and provided more than enough glow sticks for an in-room dance party.
I got to hang out in the P&G beauty suite. See those hot legs photo-bombing my self-portrait? They belong to Rachael. #rawr
I tried out beachy waves. For the first and last time. Too much work. Too much hairspray. That’s not how I roll.
I challenged Rachael to a race on the Alpine Slide. She wasted me. (See, we’re so much more well behaved in our casual clothing.)
I was enchanted, once again, by the mountain magic of the Canyons.
And I was delighted to share my Kiwi Crate cape with my boy when I returned home.
What a weekend.
