Bad Hass Jackie Chan Guacamole Recipe

Have you tried a Guacamole Making party yet?  Need a new guacamole recipe?  Since evo’12, the skilled guacamole makers have come together to announce GuacFest 2012.  Since we invented, mixed and presented our 5-minute guacamole recipes in fading light, we wanted to retry again in the daylight.  Here’s the recipe from Team #12.

From the start, the name came out as a play on the Correct way to say “Hass”, and yes it does rhyme with your derriere.  I thought we should go for an Asian-inspired taste, bringing in my love of all Eastern flavors.

Two of us wrangled our way around the ingredient table and snagged soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, toasted sesame seeds, cilantro, red onion, lime juice, Anaheim chilis and wasabi.  Tasting as we went, we smashed and mixed and added some more and time was up!

When you think of Asia and a ‘Bad Hass’ entertainer, who comes to mind?  Jackie Chan! He’s got a kick like our Anaheim chilis and will surprise you like our soy sauce and lime!  We recommend serving this along side Brown Sugar Glazed Short Ribs.

Feel free to add or subtract to match your own taste!

Bad Hass Jackie Chan Guacamole Recipe

2 ripened California avocados, diced and smashed

2-3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar

1/4 cup minced red onion

1/4 cup chopped cilantro

1/4 cup lime juice

1-2 tablespoons minced Anaheim chilis

1-2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (reserve some for garnish)

wasabi on the side

 

We mixed and served on a plate of tortilla chips.  Since the wasabi is so overpowering, we left it on the side. You may try adding a teaspoon of fresh ginger.
