My family loves this easy appetizer – Dill Havarti wrapped in Puff Pastry. This appetizer has TWO ingredients and takes 20 minutes. We’ve enjoyed no less than 3 at our family celebrations in the last 7 days. I’m pretty sure it will show up on our New Year’s Party menu as well!
First, if the words “puff pastry” intimidate you, Pillsbury Crescent rolls in the tube are an easy substitute and just as delicious.
Dill Havarti cheese block (if you can’t find a dill-flavored piece of Havarti, just get plain and use dill from your spice cupboard)
1 box Pepperidge FarmPuff Pastry sheets (freezer section) OR 1 package Pillbury Crescent Rolls
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium sized baking dish, unwrap a large rectangle of dough, approximately 8.5″ x 11″ size or 4 rolls (1/2 of tube).
Center the cheese on the dough. (Sprinkle with dill if needed.)
Fold the dough around the cheese like an envelope, ensuring that all seams are pinched shut. Sprinkle with dill.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and block shape appears softened.
Remove and serve immediately with crackers. Delicious!
