What was your big dream?
My big dream was to find a way to work from home so that I did not have to return to teaching and place my children in childcare.
How did you accomplish it?
I began by first believing that I could make this happen! I put myself out there and followed through on every potential opportunity, knowing that I would have to work without pay for quite awhile before my efforts would turn into compensation. I have been amazed at how quickly my life has changed through hard work and the help of friends online who believe in me and what I am doing!
Where did you find inspiration to get started?
My inspiration comes 100% from my family. I have never wanted anything in my life as much as I’ve wanted to be a mother, and now that I have two wonderful children, their needs motivate my goal planning and efforts.
What motivated you to keep going?
My husband is a wonderful source of support and motivation. He is always there to help me look carefully at the next steps I need to take to move forward in my writing career as well as my social media marketing business.
What’s your next Big Dream?
My next big dream is to raise $2,000 for the March of Dimes. My daughter was born two months early, and I credit the March of Dimes for helping to fund the technology that saved her life as well as for getting me through the difficult weeks and months after her birth. We walk every year as a family, Team Emma, in the March of Dimes March for Babies, and in this time of economic hardship, non-profit groups are hit particularly hard. I would like to surpass last year’s fundraising despite that fact.
Who is your hero?
My hero is my daughter, Emma. Regardless of any physical limitations she has had to deal with in her five years, she has never showed frustration or upset over those limitations. Instead she strives with a smile on her face to move forward and improve. Her attitude is enlightening and truly inspiring.
What do you wish you did better?
I wish I could find a way to manage my time better. It seems that for moms and entrepreneurs…and I’m both…there just are not enough hours in the day.
What book is on your night stand?
Twilight and the Bible.
What is your favorite lipstick?
The life of a work at home mom is not always glamorous. I can’t live without my Cherry Chapstick. 🙂
What is your favorite quote?
